Green Bay Botanical Gardens Children's Rest Stop

As part of the masterplan for the Green Bay Botanical Gardens, the building of a new rest room facility near the children's garden was indentified as a need. Working with the staff and volunteer committee, Dimension IV collaborated with stakeholers to identify the appropriate location and “feel” for the building.  Intended to be a green and sustainable building with a whimsical appearance, the team reviewed several alternatives and  with the owner  selecting the “hobbit” style house.

The process to evaluate the options was a great experience for the staff and volunteers at the Gardens.  Additionally, a design charette was conducted with families (including kids) during on the of the Gardens’ events.  Some of the ideas that kids had were very creative.

As one volunteer put it “I had no idea to the thought that had to be put into a restroom!  You did a great job helping us work through the alternatives.”
